County Service Area 38

Governance

County Service Area (CSA) 38 is a dependent special district of the County of Santa Cruz and is governed by the Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors.

CSA 38 does not have a separate governing board or hold independent meetings. All CSA 38 business is conducted by the Board of Supervisors during regular public meetings as noted on the agendas.

Although CSA 38 does not have dedicated staff, several County departments work together to administer its operations:

  • Auditor-Controller/Treasurer-Tax-Collector's Office – Collects property tax revenues and manages the financial accounting for CSA 38.
  • Sheriff's Office – Administers the CSA 38 budget and provides the law enforcement services funded by the district.
  • County Executive Office – Oversees budget development and fiscal management for both the Sheriff's Office and CSA 38.
